Hastelloy

  • Hastelloy B

Hastelloy B is a solid solution strengthened, nickel-molybdenum alloy, with significant resistance to reducing environments like hydrogen chloride gas, and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Molybdenum is the primary alloying element which provides significant corrosion resistance to reducing environments. This nickel steel alloy can be used in the as-welded condition because it resists the formation of grain-boundary carbide precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone.

This nickel alloy provides excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. In additions, Hastelloy B2 has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack. Alloy B provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids.

  • Hastelloy C-276 MATERIAL DATA SHEETS

HASTELLOY C276, UNS N10276 is considered the most versatile corrosion resistant nickel alloy available. Alloy C-276 also has excellent resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking, especially suitable for use in high temperature, inorganic and organic acids mixed with impurities (such as formic acid and acetic acid), and seawater corrosive environments.

  • Alloy 2205 Duplex Stainless Plate

Sandmeyer Steel Company has an extensive inventory of 2205 duplex stainless steel plate in thicknesses from 3/16″ (4.8mm) through 6″ (152.4mm). The yield strength is about twice that of austenitic stainless steels, thus allowing a designer to save weight and making the alloy more cost competitive when compared to 316L or 317L.
